According to a press release issued by Physicians Realty Trust, each quarter the company recognizes an individual who has excelled in finding “creative and efficient ways to incorporate sustainability principles into their daily work.” At Napoleon Medical Building, located at 2633 Napoleon Avenue, Michael oversaw an LED retrofit for tenant offices and common spaces. The project took two months, with most of the work occurring after hours. Michael coordinated with tenants, engineering, and security to complete the work with as little inconvenience as possible. As a result, Michael’s construction and timeline plan for this project was also recognized by the company; the plan will provide a framework for executing similar projects across the portfolio.
Environmental sustainability is important to Physicians Realty Trust, and one of its four primary goals includes reducing energy by 10% between 2019 – 2021. Implementing LED lighting provides a 16% reduction in energy usage for Napoleon Medical Building, according to the company’s press release. Michael said this is beneficial both for the company and the tenants.
“I’m glad this is going to help Physicians Realty Trust with its sustainability platform, and that it also helps the tenants with their costs,” Michael said.
