La Cocinita, one of the original food trucks on the New Orleans culinary scene, is expanding with a brick-and-mortar restaurant at 4920 Prytania St, New Orleans, with projected opening date of May 2024.

In 2011 the Angulos launched La Cocinita to feature street food from Benoit’s native Venezuela, stated McNulty’s article. The truck started as a late-night dining option while providing tasty dishes that were easy to eat, such as arepas with different fillings and tacos. The truck can still be found around town and for catering needs, and La Cocinita also exists in Chicago as a food truck and restaurant.
