Cypress Equities announced that it has commenced construction of additional multi-tenant buildings at the Pinnacle Nord du Lac shopping center situated at the intersection of I-12 and Highway 21 in Covington, LA, one of the most affluent submarkets of New Orleans.
Currently, the project is comprised of 327,000 square feet of retail space anchored by national tenants such as Hobby Lobby, Academy Sports + Outdoor, Petco and a separately-owned Kohl’s department store. Cypress is beginning construction of approximately 94,500 square feet of new lifestyle retail space adding three buildings on the west side of the development that will complement the property’s strong existing lineup of national and local retailers.
“The dynamic business environment afforded to us in Covington and its surrounding communities has spurred our development momentum at Pinnacle Nord du Lac,” stated Chris Maguire, chief executive officer of Cypress Equities. “We anticipate significant retailer interest in the new space thanks in part to the favorable economic climate of this region.”
Cypress’ merchandising plans for these buildings focus on creating space dedicated to active apparel and popular/moderate fashion retailers, as well as restaurants. Together with Cypress’ in-house leasing team, Larry Rabin, Austin Lavin and Emily Kramer of New Orleans-based Corporate Realty, have been retained as the leasing agents for Pinnacle Nord du Lac Shopping Center.
It was earlier announced that Cypress sold approximately 15 acres of land on which the Northshore’s first Mercedes-Benz dealership will be built. It is anticipated to open in spring 2018.
