Larry Rabin and Jonathan Fawer, with Mike Stratis of Northwest Atlantic / Intrepid Properties, represented Costco Wholesale Corporation in the retailer’s first venture in Louisiana. The New Orleans City Council recently endorsed Costco’s plans to build a new 148,000 square foot warehouse at the 14.7-acre site formerly occupied by the Carrollton Shopping Center on South Carrollton Avenue near I-10. The project brings a large block of the city back into commerce, and will create approximately 200 full and part-time jobs and utilize 120 prevailing-wage local construction positions. The project is moving forward, and the store is expected to open in 2013.
