Richard Weber represented Chipotle Mexican Grill in their expansion into Louisiana with their first two of what will eventually be many Louisiana restaurants. The burrito chain will open restaurants in Elmwood and in Baton Rouge near LSU’s North Gates in mid-2012 delighting their fans who took to Facebook to encourage the restaurant to open local locations. Since the restaurant was founded in 1993, the chain has grown to more than 1,100 restaurants across the U.S., U.K and Canada and continues to expand quickly.

OMG OMG OMG. I work in Elmwood. I have been writing to Chipotle for years begging them to come down here since I moved from Dallas in 2006. I can hardly wait. OMG
MOE, YOU TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH!!! I WORK IN ELMWOOD TOO AND I CANNOT WAIT TO EAT THERE FOR LUNCH! OMG!
yeah i love this place
I can not wait!! I pass the site in Elmwood everyday. I tried Chipotle for the first time in Chicago in 2006. Last summer, I had to make sure I had some more in Atlanta. It was better than the first time.
So glad you are moving to BR, La. We live in Ct now and will be retiring to La. and we love ya’ll food.

They are open TODAY (9/18/12) in Elmwood!!!! Yay us!!!
YES YES YES THANK YOU I’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT OPENING ONE & AS I BEGIN MY SEARCH SOMEONE HAS BEAT ME TO THE PUNCH BUT HEY THERES MORE SPACE & I’M SO EXCITED THAT ONE IS COMING TO OUR N.O. AREA YAAAAA.
Sorry Cindy, I think you jumped the gun a little bit. They are NOT opened yet. Trust me I keep checking on my way into work and at lunch everyday.
I live around clearview and airline and pass it every day to check. The outside is done but not the inside.
October 16th! just stopped by and asked lol so excited. mark your calendars!
Do Not Go There… At Least For Now
Trust me, you will be disappointed. If it isnt the ridiculous slow pace through the line, or the fact that they need 15-20 minutes to make a batch of guacamole, it will be the fact that by 3:30pm all you can order is is a bowl because they have run clean out of ingredients that will utterly tick you off. Having this chipotle feels much worse than not having one at all. It’s like a tease. And every time I tell myself “this time will be different” and I allow myself to go back, I get let down….way down. So trust me…stay away, at least for a while. They have major kinks to work out.
